Friends, Family, and Culture are not the only things that we leave behind when we leave our Motherland India to pursue opportunities, education, or new challenges. *We leave behind a piece of our Soul*. A piece that loves to Sing, Dance, Celebrate, make noise, Meditate, Laugh and Cry together…
That is the exact feeling that every Indian has when living in a foreign country. We know how it feels when you are missing a quintessential part of your identity.
That is why when all of us, the like-minded guys came together to establish Wolfsburg Marathi Mandal.
In this group, we aim to establish a small universe, where we can celebrate our festivals, showcase our talent and relive our traditions. We are a group of Maharashtrians who are working to provide you a connection with our culture and roots.
We aim to establish a closely-knit community together, which will share, celebrate and also care. As you might have also experienced back in India, though the group is formed by the Marathi community, we wholeheartedly welcome all the Indians regardless of which region or language they belong to. Mr. Kountey Chougule - President(Additional Charge of Kassenwart)
Kountey is a software professional and has been living in Wolfsburg since 2017 with his family. He is an amateur mimicry artist and likes watching films, dramas and enjoys listening to audio-books. Being part of WMM e.V. Family, he fosters his technical creativity and contributes in Website maintenance, enhancements and explores new tools for efficient event planning and team collaboration.
Mr. Gaurav Bagul - Vice President and Cultural Head (Additional Charge of Kassenwart)
Gaurav is working as a Project Manager in Automotive sector. Gaurav is Bollywood HipHop dancer. He has choreographed many dance performances & some Bollywood Flashmobs in Germany. He is associated with WMM since 2019 and actively conducts cultural activities. He always seeks to find opportunities to spread Marathi culture and bring our community together.
Mr. Neeraj Purkar - Dhol Pathak Coordinator
Neeraj works in automotive sector and he is living in Wolfsburg since 2017. He is a hobbyist photographer and also is a wanderer. For him, photography is more than a way of making memories.
He likes being part of cultural activities.
Mrs. Swati Gaikwad - Marathi Shala Head
Swati has studied Masters of Engineering and worked as an Assistant Professor in Pune. She moved to Wolfsburg in 2018 and has been associated with Wolfsburg Marathi Mandal since 2019. She is very much enthusiastic to learn new things and wants to expand as well as support Marathi culture in Wolfsburg. She took initiative for हसत खेळत मराठी शिकूया वर्ग in 2022 and successfully conducting classes for age group of 5 to 12 years.
Mr. Onkar Shirfule - Photo- & Videography
Onkar is an Industrial engineer in a reputed MNC and living in Wolfsburg since 2018 and he is associated with Wolfsburg Marathi Mandal e.V. since beginning. He loves photo-, videography. He also like Warli painting and travelling. With his hobbies he is a freelance German tutor. With his interest in photo-videography, he also offers voluntary help to other Vereins in Wolfsburg.
Mrs. Megharani Chougule - Marathi Library Head
Megharani is a dentist and had a clinic in Pune. In 2017, she shifted to Wolfsburg with her husband and daughter. She likes painting and baking. She is an amiable person who avoids solitude. With WMM e.V. platform, she has been connecting with the Indian diaspora by actively participating in various events and celebrating Indian festivals.
Mrs. Sonal Bagul - Secretary
Sonal is working as an Error Management Associate in Automotive sector. She is living in Wolfsburg since 2020. She actively conducts & participates in cultural activities. She likes to Travel & Dance. She believes in community spirit.
