Ashadhi Ekadadhi

WMM honored Vithoba, a Hindu deity from Pandharpur, Maharashtra. Young boys dressed up as Warkaris and girls as Rakhumai simulated the annual pilgrimage called “Pandharpur Wari” by doing a “Dindi” carrying Palanquins (Palakhis) procession. Two competitions were held as part of this event, namely “Mee Warkari” – Dress up like a (warkari) pilgrim and “Palkhi bavana” – create your own Palanquin (Palakhis). 3 winners each were judged by TV personality Mr. Sanjay Mohite, whose “Bahirji Naik” character from “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj” TV serial is quite famous. Certificates with WMM Logo were given to the winners. Due to the outbreak of Corona, this was an Online event. Ensuring Corona regulations, only a selected few met outside at a park for photos and filming the “Dindi”. This is one of the most unique events for a mandal in Germany and probably also in the World.
